(FAIR SERVICE AGREEMENT)
It is the responsibility of the client to back up any important data onto a CD or external Hard Disk prior to any type of System Service, installation or replacement of Hard Drives, RAM, software, or other components of your computer.
While every reasonable precaution and care is taken when working on a computer, there are so many different manufacturers and variations of the hardware and software that incompatibilities often occur, and can sometimes result in a partial or complete loss of data on a drive. SelectBC Communications assumes no responsibility or liability for loss of data resulting from installation of new hardware, software, or operating system updates.
SelectBC Communications will take all reasonable precautions and care to prevent data loss or destruction, however:
SELECTBC COMMUNICATIONS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS OR DOWN TIME RESULTING FROM ANY OF OUR SERVICES, EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, INTENTIONAL OR AS AN UNINTENTIONAL CONSEQUENCE OF OUR SERVICES. IT IS ASSUMED THE CUSTOMER AND OWNER OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM HAS BACKED UP OR REMOVED IMPORTANT OR PROPRIETARY DATA PRIOR TO THE START OF THE UPGRADE OR REPAIR PROCESS. BACKUPS SHOULD BE STORED IN A LOCATION OTHER THAN THE COMPUTER BEING REPAIRED OR UPGRADED. IF REQUESTED SELECTBC COMMUNICATIONS CAN ATTEMPT TO BACKUP DATA FOR YOU FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. BACKUP HARDWARE MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE OWNER.
